Sunlight contains both UVA rays, which cause ageing, and UVB rays, which cause sunburn, and it is important that you remember that the Sun Protection Factor (SPF) only applies to UVB rays. UVA protection is shown by 0 to 5 stars.

Sun protection factors (SPF) are a measure of how long skin covered by a sun protection cream (sunscreen) takes to burn when compared to uncovered skin i.e. SPF15 means it will take 15 times longer to burn when wearing the sun protection cream. A SPF15 sun protection cream will allow through 7% of the harmful UVB rays, SBF30, 4% and SBF 60, only 2%.
