Discounts are generally available if you park your car overnight in a garage or agree to a voluntary excess charge which would involve paying the first part of any claim - the higher excess you agree to pay the bigger the discount you will receive. Most car insurance companies will also offer no-claims discounts which depending on your claims history could range from 30% to 65%.
